How the Dunk Meter Works in NBA 2K27
Every dunk in NBA 2K27 uses the meter. There is no separate meter dunk to trigger: the bar appears on your dunk attempt, and the finish depends on how you time the release.
Move the right stick straight in one direction and hold it, then release to time the finish. The meter fills while you hold, and the release is what decides whether the dunk goes down.
How the dunk meter has changed
- 2K25
The dunk meter is introduced. You have to flick the right stick up then immediately back down, and using it is fully optional.
- 2K26
Still optional, but the input gets simpler: hold the right stick in any direction instead of the up then down motion.
- 2K27
No longer optional. Every dunk is metered, so the release timing decides every attempt.
