NBA 2K26 Best Jumpshot: Researching with Automated Testing
Our Goal at NBA2KLab is to identify the best custom jump shots in NBA 2k26. To find the best jumpers in 2k26 we are relying on 2 main things. First, we take jump shot submissions from 2KLab community members that have signed up for a premium account. Second, we take 200 jumpers every 5 milliseconds throughout the green window of that custom jump shot. We identify the edges of the green window, the shot speed and the total make rate to figure out which custom jump shots green the most.
In 2K26 different play styles benefit from using different jump shots. Our testing is designed to identify jumpers are incredibly fast for competitive players, but our table can also be used to identify slower jumpers with higher make percentages that are easier to make for players who just want to see their open shots go in.

NBA 2k26 Custom Jumpshot Shot Cues
Visual Cues return this year for each jump shot in our Custom Jumper table. The visual cue shown here is Michael Porter Jr Base, Beluba Release 1 and Victor Wembanyama Release 2 with the shot speed and timing profile all the way to the right in the custom jump shot creator.
Our automated test script now records the jumper cue for every jumper request we complete. To view any shots cue, click the check box next to the shot in the jumper table.
How do we find the Best Custom Jumpers in NBA 2k26
Here at NBA2KLab we have been testing various aspects of the NBA2K franchise since 2K17. We do repetitive actions and limit all outside variables that could affect the subject of our test. We have a lot of free data from badge tests, attribute tests, build tools, etc. In order to keep the site alive, we introduced a premium side of the site where we do all of our jumpshot testing.
What does NBA2KLab Premium tell me about the Best Custom Jumper on 2k26 for my build?
We are in the process of collecting data on which jumpers are the best in NBA 2k25 for each build. The table will show you 5 different metrics related to each shot. You can filter the table by height and rating to see shots that are applicable to your build. Shots that we have tested and recommend have a column that shows the rating required to use that shot. We also have a star rating system that shows how much our premium users like a shot.
Here are more details about what each column means.
- Base - This is the base of the jumpshot tested
- Release - this the release of the jumpshot tested
- Min and Max height - In 2k, your height determines which bases and releases you are allowed to equip. These columns on the table can be filtered so you can only see shots your build can use
- Rating Required - Your 3pt or mid range rating unlocks different shots. A higher rating will give you a wider variety of shots available. This column is also filterable
- Speed is the same as it has always been, how quickly will the ball get out of your hands. The measurement in the table is the earliest possible timing that a green can result. The Shot Speeds in the game are more of a guideline than a perfect measurement of shot speed.
- Green Window is the amount of time that a shot can potentially result in a green. For example, if a shot can green from holding shoot 500 milliseconds to 550 milliseconds the resulting green window is 50 milliseconds.
- Total Green Rate is the percentage of the total shots taken that resulted in a green.
- The Middle Green Rate represents a smaller inner green window where the green rate increases dramatically. Every shot this year has a inner green window where the green rate increases to above 50% or more for a multiple millisecond window.
- The Peak Green Rate represents a single 200 shot sample directly in the middle of the green window. Can the shot hit 100% of perfectly timed shots? The Peak Green Rate will tell you.
- Star Rating - Our premium users can rate a jumper out of 5 stars. We show the aggregate rating from all of our users to help show which shots our community likes the most
- Ratings - How many times a shot has been voted on

Check the box next to as many jumpers as you want to view their make rating in 5mS intervals on a graph below the chart. Use the chart to find jumpers that green at a higher rate throughout the entire green window and not just in the exact center.
Best Motion Styles on 2k26
2K26 Motion Styles can make a 20% difference in speed. If your player feels like they are moving slower than other players despite high speed rating, you may have a bad motion style on, or no motion style at all.
We have scripted running patterns for every motion style in the game to identify the styles that move the fastest without the ball. We record the time it take for the player to start and stop running as well to get a full picture of the trade offs with each motion style.
