NBA 2k27 Best Motion Styles

NBA 2K27 Best Motion Styles
We have written an automated script to measure the speed of each motion style. We are taking 4 different measurements for each Motion Style and we do them both with and without Turbo. For these tests we used 86 Speed and Agility for the Small and Swing categories, and 79 Speed and 75 Agility for the Bigs, which were all recorded on the same 6'10" build.
We are collecting data for both Sprinting (holding turbo) and Jogging (non-turbo). There are situations where both sprinting and jogging are appropriate, such as players maintaining adrenaline boosts, so we wanted to give a complete representation of each style in multiple situations.
Our script collects 10 samples for each style then takes all 8 measurements. Our table can be toggled to display both Average and Median values for the data.
86 Speed / 86 Agility
Every Small style was recorded at 86 Speed and 86 Agility so the timings are directly comparable.
86 Speed / 86 Agility
Swing styles use the same rig as Small, so you can read a shared style across both categories.
79 Speed / 75 Agility
Every Big style was recorded on the same 6'10" build, the maximum Speed and Agility a Center reaches at that height.
Each run is recorded the same way, then measured frame by frame rather than by eye.
How do we test Motion Styles?
We record video footage of a MyPlayer with each motion style equipped. We then take standard measurements on how long it takes the player to complete certain tasks in the video.
Top Running Speed
One of the most important metrics when it comes to a Motion Style is your top running speed. Our automated testing collects the Motion Styles top running Speed both while Holding Sprint and without Sprint.
Launch Speed
The next metric to pay attention to for valuing motion styles is the styles Launch Speed. A bad motion style can have you feeling like you are running in sand. Our test measures both the Motion Styles Turbo and Non Turbo launch. A quick takeoff is one of the most important aspects of creating open 3s off the dribble.
Time to Top Speed
For metric number 3 we measure the time it takes for each motions style to get up to top speed. Some motion styles can take longer than others to accelerate, especially compared to non turbo, which can make a huge difference in your ability to stay in front of a quick ball handler.
Full Width of Court
Finally, we measure the amount of time it takes each style to run the full width of the court.
Sort any column, filter to the styles your build qualifies for, and compare up to three side by side.
