Deadeye Badge Details

With the most recent patch buffing contest, Deadeye inherently becomes even more valuable. Essentially, this badge is going to help mitigate contests, which in turn increases your green window and your make percentage. Now, this badge isn't going to lower the contest percentage, but it will lower the effectiveness of said contest. And this was confirmed as we gathered data from our initial contest video

NBA2k26 Shooting Badges

Deadeye

Jump shots taken with a defender closing out receive less of a penalty from a shot contest.
Elite and Aggressive Shooters
Gold+
Get at least Gold. You could use a Max +1 or +2 to get HoF or Legend.
Deadeye Test Details

To test Deadeye we took 200 deadeye shots for every 5 milliseconds throughout the green window. The offensive player had a 92 3PT rating and the defender had an 85 Per. Def. rating. For our first test, we looked at Deadeye versus open contest. In the second test, we focused on lightly contested shots from anywhere around 20% to 30%.

Deadeye Test Results

Deadeye Boost vs Open Contest:

  • Legend = +8%
  • HoF = +6.6%
  • Gold = +5.4%
  • Silver = +3.5%
  • Bronze = +2%

Deadeye Pure Green Window Size Open Contest:

  • Legend = 16 MS
  • HoF = 13 MS
  • Gold = 11 MS
  • Silver = 9 MS
  • Bronze = 8 MS
  • None = 7 MS

Bronze and Silver provide marginal results. Gold is where we start to see a noticeable boost in make percentage and pure green window size. Elite and aggressive shooters should look to target HoF or Legend.

Deadeye Boost vs Light Contest:

  • Legend = +8.5%
  • HoF = +6.9%
  • Gold = +5.3%
  • Silver = +3.6%
  • Bronze = +1.1%

While the make percentages were of course lower due to the better contest, the boost for each badge level stayed about the same and even got better at higher badge levels, hinting that the badge may work harder depending on the badge level and the severity of the contest.

Deadeye Pure Green Window Size Light Contest:

  • Legend = 12 MS
  • HoF = 9 MS
  • Gold = 7 MS
  • Silver = 5 MS
  • Bronze = 4 MS
  • None = 2 MS

As we get to the Gold level and beyond, the green window starts to get much wider.
