Just about everyone is shooting fades in NBA 2K26. If you're shooting fades it's likely you have a high level of shifty shooter to help convert those shots into makes. The high difficulty jumpshots mentioned in the badge description could include fades, hop shots and even standstill shots directly after a dribble move.

Improves a player's ability to successfully make off-the-dribble, high-difficulty jump shots.

On a budget and want a well-rounded build.

Silver

For those who don't wish to invest too much in Shifty Shooter.

Primary scoring methods are fades and off the dribble shots

Gold+

Get at least Gold since it's the sweet spot.

Like to take aggressive shots or you are the primary scorer

HoF/Legend

Get HoF/Legend if you're a primary scorer or an aggressive shooter.

Shifty Shooter Test Details

To test Shifty Shooter we used a modded controller to take 1,800 shots throughout the green window for each badge level, which makes a total sample size of 12,600 shots. The offensive player had a 91 3PT and used Pro 2 dribble pull-up to fade out of the corner for every rep.

Every level of Shifty Shooter provides a decent boost over the previous level.

Bronze shows decent but modest results.
At Silver, we can see a 100% make rate at 810 MS in the center of the green window. It is the first badge level to reach 100% in this scenario.
Gold provides a sizeable boost over Silver and it's much more forgiving in terms of your jumpshot timing.
HoF provides another solid boost
At Legend, the boost slightly tapers off.

There is a linear boost in terms of the average make percentage. Since we tested each badge level at a 91 3PT, these stats shows you the exact boost for using a Max +1 or Max +2 from the Gold level.
